Reflection Journal (Tecnology and Second Language Teaching) by : Mark Warschauer & Carla Meskill

Reading this article is like open my window in my mind, why? because I just knew that at least there are 2 paradigms in language learning. They are :

1. Cognitive Approaches;
2. Sociocognitive Approaches.

Cognitive Approaches view that language learning is an individual psycholinguistic, it means learners knowing language is not from model of a language system but it comes on innate cognitive of learners, in addition. Sociocognitive Approaches view that language learning is a process of socialization, it means learners will master the language if they always perform well interaction to others.

After performing deep self reflection into myself, I declare that my paradigm for language learning is Sociocognitive Approaches.

I agree that technology as a part of tool of second language learning, like computer mediated communication for long distance or teachers or students can search every references that they need through World Wide Web (WWW). but they can not hang all the problems and find solutions through technology, they should not be creative if without the technology. Everything is in helping with the advancement of technology, but technology is not everything in language learning.

There is no the best tools or methods for language learning.

  5. @ Dreaming : Yes, I agree. But Please do not extremely hopeful to the technology.
    As a great teacher we must have the back up plane during learning process.....

    Please, respond my question:

    1.What will you do, if you want to teach your students by using computer but on the way of your learning process the computer is shooting down without any reason.....
    Should you perform your learning process?

    I do not think so, because you do not have any back up plane.

    So, Please do not extremely hopeful to the technology

  6. @ Nafizzz : We reach the best result if we combine the method with the objectives of learning and the students...let the objectives of learning and condition of students lead you as the teacher which method will you use to perform language learning....

    Ok!
